How Do I Do A Credit Report Dispute? – Episode #16

Credit report disputes can be done online or via the mail. We prefer mailing as you can get physical documentation of receipt of your dispute. The key to mailing your credit dispute is getting a certified mail receipt. Remember the credit agencies have 30 days to respond. They get a little longer if they have questions so expect the process to take about 60 days. But, know that if they don’t get a response from the credit grantor, they are obligated to remove the item.

Use our dispute letter samples and the credit bureau addresses to get started.

I am refinancing and out of nowhere a dispute showed up on one of my creditors comment section. ‘account on dispute’. A disput file is already in process.
The question is; Does this impact an a credit situation?

A dispute doesn’t impact the credit score.
