Credit Score Check – Episode #90
Credit Score Check
There are lots of places to get your credit scores. In fact, a Google search on credit score returns over 16 million search results. But when it comes to FICO scores, there is only one site that exclusively has all three FICO scores from all three credit bureaus – myFICO.com. Well, myFICO and its partner sites like Bankrate and VideoCreditScore.
Why do FICO scores matter so much more than non-FICO scores? Because most lenders are using the FICO score model and you want to make sure you have an apples to apples comparison when you are getting a loan or trying to negotiate your credit card interest rate down.
Are there other ways to find out your FICO scores? You can find out from a lender or an apartment landlord in the application process, especially if you are the victim of an adverse action. But the problem with this strategy is you are waiting too long to check it and won’t have any time to dispute inaccuracies or improve your behavior to increase your score
